Laney
Laney Amplification is a highly respected British company founded in 1967 by Lyndon Laney in the West Midlands, the birthplace of heavy metal. Known for its distinct “Laney Sound,” the company gained early notoriety when its amps were used by Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath on their seminal debut album.
Laney has a long history of innovation, producing powerful, articulate valve amps—from the early high-gain AOR (Advanced Overdrive Response) series favored by hard rock players, to the modern, boutique-style Lionheart line. Today, they cater to various genres with their heavy-focused Ironheart series and the portable CUB series, maintaining a reputation for reliability and that powerful, British-voiced tone.
