What People Say?

It’s rare these days to walk into a business and truly feel like the employees care, but that’s exactly what I experienced at Riverton Music. I went in to buy a guitar for my girlfriend, and from the moment I walked through the door, I was met with genuine kindness and effort.

Jason went above and beyond to help me find the right instrument, and the luthier (I wish I could remember his name!) took the time to inspect the guitar I chose, making sure it was in top condition and explaining why it was a great pick. Their attention to detail and care really stood out. When I finally gave the guitar to my girlfriend, everything they said rang true. She absolutely loves it. Huge thanks to the team at Riverton Music for making the experience so personal and memorable.

Ask for Jason – I have had the pleasure of doing business w/Jason at Riverton Music Store Sandy and bring my friends there as well. The selection of Taylor guitars is stunning (I call the room “Taylor Heaven”).
There is a saying in leadership, “if the only tool in your toolbox is a hammer, then all your problems look like a nail.” As I have interacted with Jason and watched him with my friends and customers, I believe this truth also applies to sales and customer service.
Jason has a toolbox full of tools, his ability to listen, his ability to engage, to observe how a person is interacting with a guitar, understand where the person is in their guitar journey, and to give you space to play a guitar without hovering over you.
He can tell when a person needs a little nudge, when a person knows exactly what they are looking for and when someone is "just looking" he gets it.
I have never felt pressure to “buy now” and he has always listened and respected my price point. Obviously, he wants to sell guitars, yet, he does not put that pressure on you.
Jason has a balance of knowledge and professionalism; he presents the simple basic understanding that buying a guitar should be fun.
I have been to every guitar store in the area. If you are looking for a Taylor / Gretsch / PRS, Riverton Music in Sandy offers it all, selection, price points and service.
For guitar service ask for Jim he is the “go-to” for set-ups and repairs. He is straight forward and a wealth of knowledge. He will meet you at your level of knowledge, he does not make you feel dumb for asking questions.
He does not rush through the explanation of the repair process, and their prices are very reasonable.

Wonderfully jam packed music store. Awesome selection and excited to come back. Tons of staff continuously checked to see if we needed help and they were very friendly. This store has a lot of sheet music and instruments you can purchase or rent. If you need any music products I would recommend coming here! They even have a repair center.

Riverton Music is a gem. I’ve been in a few times now, and every visit has been memorable. Jason in particular goes above and beyond — he’s knowledgeable, genuinely excited about music, and makes you feel like your instrument and your story matter.

I recently brought in my vintage Gibson L-10, and the way he treated it with reverence (and joy!) meant a lot. He let me play, listened, and even honored the guitar’s history in how he interacted with it. That’s not something you find everywhere.

The shop has a great selection — from Baby Taylors to high-end acoustics — and the staff balances professionalism with real friendliness. It’s a place where both seasoned players and folks just getting started will feel welcome.

Highly recommend Riverton Music — and especially Jason — if you’re looking for a shop that understands the instruments and the people behind them.

Stopped by to look at guitars and Jason was super helpful and patient with all my questions. Really appreciated the experience. I didn't purchase here because I ended up finding a used guitar from an individual, but when in the market again, will definitely want to shop here.

Very professional and kind, they take the time to treat you like a person instead of just another customer and give good advice. Fair pricing and will not charge if you don't approve of a service while they have your instrument. I would come back and trust them with my instrument!

We came in about three weeks ago just to *look* at bass guitars for my daughter, since she had been saving up her own money. Jason was incredibly kind, patient, and informative. My daughter even mentioned how comfortable she felt with him and that he genuinely seemed to care about her choice, which meant a lot.

Fast forward three weeks later—she decided to make the purchase. Jason listened to her budget and went out of his way to put together the perfect setup: a better amp, the right strap, a case, and everything else she needed for her new bass—all while staying within her budget.

Thanks to Jason, what could have been a stressful first big purchase turned into an exciting, confidence-building experience. Needless to say, we’re customers for life!

This is a fantastic place to go to if you are ever looking for a guitar or need any kind of repair. Customer service is outstanding. Jason is just a gem to work with. Never have I ever had such amazing customer service from someone who was so knowledgeable but gave no pressure. Jim is fantastic when it comes to helping you with any kind of repair. As far as I've been able to tell, they only sell products that customers can have full confidence in.

Let me start by saying Jason is the absolute man / is the reason I purchased a guitar from here.

I was here over the course of 3 days, and what sold me was something you can’t buy - genuine knowledge and service demonstrated by Jason.

He even set up the two guitars I was interested in side by side, in a sound proof room, so I could really get it sussed out.

Don’t bother with big box stores and check this place out!

I honestly left with more knowledge- and a pretty sick PRS
